On Friday, July 1, 2016, U.S. Ambassador to Ireland Kevin F. O’Malley hosted U.S. Independence Day celebrations at the American Ambassador’s Residence in the Phoenix Park.
Noted Irish tenor Paul Bryom sang the Irish national anthem and African-American jazz artist Carmen Browne performed the U.S. anthem. This year’s ‘Fun at the Fair’ festival theme showcased emerging Irish bands inspired by U.S. musical genres including: 1940s harmony trio The Bugle Babes, old-timey roots band I Draw Slow, New Orleans style Stomptown Brass, and alternative folk/bluegrass group The Young Folk.
