Unlike at U.S. domestic passport agencies, there is no expedited processing for U.S. passport applications at U.S. Embassies overseas. Please DO NOT send an expedited fee. It is essential you apply for a U.S. passport well in advance of your scheduled travel; current processing time for a U.S. passport is approximately 3-4 weeks once we have all required documents.
Passport fees can be found on our passport fee page.
Mail-in renewals: Payment can be made online by card/PayPal etc. or through the mail by postal order/bank draft. You can find detailed information here.
If submitting postal order/bank draft the payment should be made payable to “U.S. Embassy Dublin”
Special Notes:
Credit/ Debit Card Payments (In person appointments only)
If you do not wish to pay by credit/debit card you can pay by postal order/bank draft for the exact euro value. We cannot give change – exact payment is required for all applications.
Customers can attend the Embassy by appointment only – no drop-in service available.

The Embassy has small lockers which can accommodate a cell phone. No other electronics may be placed in these lockers. Additionally, you are not permitted to bring large bags or luggage items into the Embassy.
If you need reasonable accommodation for your appointment, we encourage you to request your accommodation immediately to acsdublin@state.gov once you schedule your appointment. We make every effort to provide accommodations to persons with disabilities and medical conditions. Reasonable accommodations vary, depending on the situation and the person’s needs.
Examples of accommodations include, but are not limited to:
