U.S. Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers speaks at the IIEA

On May 7th 2014, Jason Furman who is the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers visited Dublin and made a speech at the Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA). Five years after the outbreak of the economic crisis, creating and sustaining economic growth remains one of the most significant policy challenges in the U.S. and internationally. In his address to the IIEA, Jason Furman outlined the key steps in the U.S. growth strategy and considered what he describes as “the ultimate test of economic performance” – ensuring that the benefits of growth are broadly shared.
