On Tuesday, June 21 U.S. Vice President Joe Biden touched down in Dublin for a 5 day trip to Ireland. The Vice President was greeted at Dublin Airport by Minister of Foreign Affairs Charlie
Flanagan, U.S. Ambassador to Ireland Kevin O’Malley and Irish Ambassador to the U.S. Anne Anderson.
The Vice President proceeded immediately to Government Buildings in Dublin and was greeted by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny. Vice President Biden signed the guestbook at the Department of Taoiseach before the two dignitaries held a bilateral meeting where they discussed U.S.–Ireland ties, trade initiatives, Northern Ireland peace process, and a range of other European security and economic issues.
On Wednesday, June 22 Vice President Biden paid a courtesy call to Áras an Uachtaráin where he was welcomed by President Michael D. Higgins & his wife
Mrs. Sabina Higgins. On the afternoon of June 22, the Vice President and An Taoiseach Enda Kenny will be making stops in several towns in County Mayo, and visiting points of significance to the Vice President and the Taoiseach.
On Friday, June 24, 2016, the U.S. Vice President Joe Biden will deliver remarks on the Irish-American experience, the shared heritage of the two nations, and the values of tolerance, diversity and inclusiveness. Remarks will take place at Dublin Castle Garden located at Dublin Castle, Castle St, Dublin 2
