U.S. Embassy Dublin seeks applicants for its Young Leaders Council 2020. This Council is a collective of people the U.S. Embassy has identified as emerging leaders within their respective fields. The purpose of the Council is to enable the Embassy to engage with Irish youth on topics of U.S. and shared interest, as well as to strengthen Council members’ understanding, leadership skills, and professional development. A major component of the Young Leaders Council is the network of peers that you will develop throughout the year.
Council members will be invited to expert speaker engagements, working groups, networking receptions, and other U.S. Embassy events. Members also will meet with Embassy section heads to serve as a consultative body providing Irish youth perspectives on key issues.
Council members will meet roughly 8 times throughout the year for Council specific events, plus receive invitations to more general Embassy activities. Attendance is vital at Council specific events; participation will be tracked and taken into consideration when selecting members for other Embassy activities.
